Update 28th November – Early Bird Season Passes extended up to and including 13 December 2024.
We are pleased to confirm that our winter season will open on Friday 20 December.
Following updates from our parent company, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and their main contractor Balfour Beatty, we continue to expect that the mountain railway will return to operation for the upcoming snowsports season which begins on Friday 20th December 2024.
Balfour Beatty are now coming to the end of the remediation works, after which safety checks and staff training will take place in preparation for the railway’s return to service.
The Ptarmigan Building will re-open in conjunction with the mountain railway. We will also have either or both the Cairngorm Café and refurbished Cas Bar open throughout the winter season in the Day Lodge Building. Once the season is underway our Ticket Office will be open every day in the Base Station together with ski hire and our Mountain Shop in the Day Lodge as normal.
Regarding ticketing, for the sale of winter season passes priority will be given to the previous two years season pass holders on a first come first served basis. As a gesture of goodwill our early bird prices have been held from last year and will remain until 30th November 2024. Our early bird season pass prices together with our day pass prices are now available to view on our website. We will announce the launch of season pass online applications for priority customers this week, which will then be opened to general sale by mid-November, subject to availability. As always, parking will be free throughout the snowsports season in our refurbished main car park. We would encourage where possible for customers to utilise the regular Aviemore Adventurer bus which can take customers and ski equipment from Aviemore to our front door.
We are delighted to be moving towards a re-opening of the mountain railway which is great news for all our customers and our dedicated team at Cairngorm Mountain. We aim to maximise opportunities for all our winter visitors and look forward to welcoming all our guests for another snowsports season with us.
Thank you for your patience and watch this space.
