February Half Term At Cairngorm Mountain

Essential Information For Snowsports During February Half Term

With the half term holiday period just around the corner, we would like to inform any customers who may be planning to visit Cairngorm Mountain for snowsports of the current situation on the mountain.

We will have guaranteed snow on our lower beginners area and are expecting to be close to capacity. We are aiming to introduce late afternoon sessions between 3:30 – 5:00pm, booking details to follow on our socials and website. Unfortunately, with the fluctuations of extreme weather conditions this season, we can’t guarantee that we will have snowsports on other areas of the hill during the half term period.

We presently have only our beginners area at the base of the resort open for skiing and snowboarding which is approximately 200 metres in length. Due to the size of the beginners area lift pass sales are limited, with priority given to our affiliated snowsports school operators. This is so we can safely manage capacity and ensure all customers have a positive experience.

For information on available terrain and uplift, please check our Mountain Report and our Facebook Page which our Operations team update daily.

Our parent company Highlands and Islands Enterprise and its contractors are continuing to work towards returning the mountain railway to service as soon as possible, although they are unable to provide a definite date at present. At this stage realistically, we do not anticipate it will return before the start of the February half term period, but we will provide updates on a commencement date as soon as we have one.

Never Been Skiing Or Snowboarding Before?

For safety reasons, we do not allow complete beginners onto the slopes unless they are under instruction, or assisted by a competent skier/snowboarder.
