We are delighted to announce this summer will see the launch of our new gravity style mountain bike park at Cairngorm Mountain.
The new bike park will consist of three grades of flow trails; Green, Blue & Red. Aimed at beginners and younger children the green trails are designed to provide the perfect introduction to mountain biking. The blue trails provide the next natural step of progression for riders to reach intermediate level. For those more experienced at mountain biking, the red trails will provide the ultimate thrill of advanced flow trails.
Two 100m conveyors will take riders to the top of the Lower Zone, where riders can effortlessly access the green and lower blue trails, and enjoy the thrill of the downward descent. For those more experienced riders, the purpose built climb trail will take riders to the top of the upper blue and red trails.
The total length of the new trails will be 3.4km, with the longest descent at 1.4km.
For those wishing to leave the car at home, the new Aviemore Adventurer bus service runs regularly from Aviemore to our front door at Cairngorm Mountain and includes bike storage racks.
Visitors can bring their own bikes to experience the bike park or hire one of our new Commencal bikes which range from small balance bikes for little ones through to adult sizes, and even electric bikes for effortless climbing. Helmets and pads are also available for hire. Meanwhile the new bike shelter will provide secure storage whilst visitors are sampling our other facilities.
The bike park is located adjacent to the popular tubing park providing the opportunity to experience two great activities in one location. The tubing park is suitable for age 2+ through to adults and opens most days throughout the school holidays.
After a day of activities the Cairngorm Café balcony is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views down to Loch Morlich whilst enjoying a cold drink, local beer and lunch.
Work is well underway with opening of the bike park anticipated to be in early July 2023.
