Role Overview
Purpose of job
The Retail Assistant plays a vital role in our store, responsible for helping customers and ensuring a smooth shopping experience to Cairngorm customers.
Purpose of the job:
The retail assistant shall provide excellent customer service, support sales, and maintain an organised and aesthetically attractive store environment. Our retail assistants help customers find products, process transactions, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
No evening work or split shifts.
Pay Rate:
- 18 years plus £12.00 per hour
- 17-18 years £10.40 per hour
- Under 17 £7.35 per hour

Roles and Responsibilities
- To follow the opening and closing procedures
- Use of ICR till system for cash handling and card payments
- To advise and assist customers to maximise retail sales
- To maintain stock levels and displays for maximum effect
- To assist with the physical movement, storage, and display of merchandise
- To assist with the receipt of goods in accordance with company procedures
- To ensure all merchandise is coded and priced correctly
- To carry out stocktaking duties as required
- Regular housekeeping to ensure a clean and well presented environment for customers
- To be aware of all Retail Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements. Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures, risk assessments and company policies
- To identify personal development needs in line with personal and organisational objectives
- To be flexible enough to undertake any other reasonable duties as may, from time to time, be required
Person Specification
Experience
The role would suit someone who has had experience in a visitor attraction including winter snowsports; as well as those with general retail experience. Demonstrate good people skills, both customer facing and within your team. The role will require a degree of flexible working to meet the business needs, 7-day operation and events outwith normal operating hours.
