New Adventure Ball Runs

July 25th, 2024.

New Adventure Ball Runs

Another new activity following on the back of the mountain carts launched in June, is the arrival of a series of new adventure ball runs. Think marble runs but much larger and situated outdoors at over 600 feet above sea level. The series of wooden ball runs will snake through the mountain garden leading to the finale double run at the mountain bike trails offering spectacular views of the mountains, forests and loch.

Ideal for families with younger children, the new activity will run throughout the school holidays and every day weather permitting from late July 2024 to Autumn. The ball runs will bring hours of fun and laughter, bringing a new attraction for families with younger children to experience.

The starting point for the activity is inside the Camera Obscura situated in the mountain garden. A series of fun yet educational questions from the company mascot Rhona the Reindeer will guide visitors to the finish line and on to the next ball run challenge.

CEO of CMSL, Susan Smith, commented: “Our fantastic new outdoor ball runs adds another family friendly experience to our summer offering – we are confident that families will have great fun! This activity coupled with the wee slide at our tubing park offers a super day out for younger children.”

Owned by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and operated by the Cairngorm Mountain team, the resort is one of Scotland’s iconic locations attracting visitors of all ages and abilities in every season of the year. With environmental rangers who oversee the protection of the site and can offer insights into its unique nature, visitors can learn about the Cairngorms and Scotland’s mountain environment.

The adventure ball runs will be accessed with the purchase of a Cairngorm Mountain wooden ball at £5 per ball. The ball is then the customer’s to use over and over again. From early August also included in the £5 cost is a free session on the wee tubing slide The Snowflake when it re-opens, providing a great value product for families.

Other activities on offer at Cairngorm Mountain include the family friendly mountain biking trails and guided walks whilst the bigger slides at the tubing park and mountain carts are perfect for older children and adults.

After hours of fresh air on the mountain, the Cairngorm Café balcony is the perfect spot to enjoy a bite to eat offering child friendly dishes together with adult favourites.
