The mountain railway is currently out of service, however the latest up date from our parent company Highlands and Islands Enterprise confirms that the funicular railway is set to be back in action towards the end of December or early in the new year. Being a season pass holder at Cairngorm Mountain doesn’t just mean unlimited access to the slopes during the winter, you can also enjoy a range of benefits including discounts when you spend in our café and shop as well as unlimited mountain railway trips after the winter season finishes through to Autumn.

Here is the latest update from our parent company, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) – we’re currently aiming for the funicular to be back in service at the start of the upcoming winter season at Cairngorm Mountain, which begins on Friday 20 December 2024.
Once live, you will be able to purchase season passes online via our Skiperformance webshop – www.cairngormmountain.skiperformance.com – this platform allows you to purchase passes for multiple individuals in a single transaction. For first time purchasers you will be required to add a SKIDATA Key Card that your pass will be loaded on to. Existing online customers will have the ability to reload their cards from last year and head straight to the slopes.
Yes, if you would prefer to buy your pass in person you can come into the Ticket Office.
Your season pass will be valid for the full duration of the snowsports season, and you can use it as many times during that period as you like.
Yes, you can use your season pass for the mountain railway up until it’s expiry date.
We understand that some governing bodies may not issue licenses/memberships before the end of November, therefore we have extended our Early Bird discounts for these passes until the end of December 2024.

We will aim to process all season passes as quickly as possible. Once produced, these will be posted to the address listed on your account (if purchased online) in advance of the snowsports season commencing, unless you have selected to collect from the Ticket Office. You will be notified by email of any changes to this.
Car parking will be free throughout the snowsports season. Our main car park can get very busy, so we encourage customers to use the regular Aviemore Adventurer bus which can accommodate your snowsports equipment too. It also drops you right outside our front door!
