Make Cairngorm Mountain Your Day Out
We welcome school trips of all ages and abilities and are the perfect location for an outdoors experience. We can also accommodate pre-school groups too.
Popular with school groups is the mountain tubing park offering exhilarating slides for children as young as 2 right through to teenagers. The new mountain biking park launched in 2023 also provides a great day out with trails to suit beginners to advanced riders.
These activities can be combined with an educational StoryWalk in our Mountain Garden. Guided walks can also be arranged to suit most abilities.
After all that outdoor exercise The Cairngorm Café can easily accommodate school groups and The Mountain Shop is the perfect spot for that pocket money souvenir or pack of sweets.

Tubing Park Sessions
Enjoy a visit to our Tubing Park popular with primary school and secondary school children alike. There’s a choice of slides include a smaller one for young children and more exhilarating slides for ages 4 upwards.
Each session lasts 30 minutes with multiple goes on the tubing slides during a session.

Mountain Biking Park
Enjoy a visit to our Mountain Biking Park with trails for beginners and younger children through to intermediate trails and advanced sections. There’s also conveyor uplifts to take children up to the start of the lower trails effortlessly.
Bike hire can also be provided on site.

Educational Mountain Garden
We can provide a group StoryWalk through the mountain garden to allow children to learn about the natural and local environment together with insights into the wildlife, plants and birds that call the garden home. A quiz is also available for children to complete and for a £1 fee per child they can receive a small gift at the end.
The mountain garden is also home to the UK’s highest phone box with a selfie spot.

Guided Walks for Schools
We can tailor guided walks to suit younger children through to teenagers providing a unique experience to discover the mountain landscape and learn about the history and habitants of the mountain.
Run in groups of 10 with multiple walks possible from as little as an hour walk to more extensive options. Packed lunches can be provided too.

Lunch Options
Our large Cairngorm Café can easily accommodate large school groups with child friendly options from freshly made soup and sandwiches to pizza and pasta.
We can also provide packed lunches too, to allow your group to take lunch with them on a guided walk or to enjoy eating outside on the picnic benches in the mountain garden or outside the Day Lodge.
