Hello all,
We are pleased to announce that, in line with guidance from the Scottish Government, we will be partially reopening the Cairngorm Mountain resort from Monday 26 April 2021. Unfortunately, whilst we have seen some unusual spring weather these past few weeks, there remains insufficient snow cover on the lower mountain to permit access for general snow sports.
From 26 April 2021, we will be opening the Mountain Shop for retail and offer food and beverages from our pop-up catering facility outside the Day Lodge. From Saturday 1 May 2021, our Tubing slide will reopen and, whilst this will initially only be available on weekends, we hope to expand our operating capacity as we progress into the summer. Also, the mountain garden is open for all to use.
Contractors, Balfour Beatty, have remobilised on site to recommence work on the Funicular railway reinstatement. During the course of these works there will be heavy machinery operating in the resort, so we kindly ask that all visitors accessing the mountain follow signed diversion routes and observe all warning signs and barriers. Information regarding these can be found outside the Base Station and at the bottom of the lower Coire Cas trail.
We are also delighted to have got to the stage of submitting a planning application for campervan facilities at Coire Ciste. Staff have been working with colleagues in the CNPA to work-up this project and we very much hope to be in a position to provide this new facility in the coming months.
This has been an incredibly challenging winter for all, and we are thankful to everyone who has supported us during this time. We look forward to seeing you for an enjoyable summer at Cairngorm Mountain very soon.
Susan Smith, Interim Chief Executive, Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd
